Frequently asked

About counselling

Are you accepting new clients?+

Yes. The best next step is to book a complimentary 15-minute consultation call to discuss your needs and determine fit.

Where can we meet?+

Secure virtual sessions across Quebec and Ontario. In-person sessions will be available at my Montreal office once it opens. Ontario clients are seen virtually only.

How long is a session?+

The initial assessment is 75 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 50 minutes. The complimentary consultation call is 15 minutes.

What are your fees?+

Initial assessment (75 min): $220 CAD. Follow-up (50 min): $180 CAD. 15-minute consultation call: complimentary. I do not currently offer sliding scale.

Do you take insurance? Can I submit for reimbursement?+

I do not bill insurance directly. I issue an official receipt after each session that you can submit to your private insurer. Coverage depends on your plan.

What is your cancellation policy?+

Missed or late-cancelled sessions are charged in full unless you provide at least 24 hours notice.

How often will we meet?+

Most clients begin weekly or biweekly. Booking is limited to once per week per client through the site.

What can I expect in the initial assessment?+

The initial assessment is 75 minutes. We'll talk through what brings you in, some of your history and any prior therapy, your hopes for the work, and how we'll handle confidentiality and communication. It's longer than a follow-up because there's more ground to cover — and it gives us both a sense of fit before continuing.

What if I'm in crisis?+

This site is not monitored 24/7. In crisis, please dial 9-8-8 (Canada Suicide Crisis Helpline) or go to your nearest emergency department.

Is everything confidential?+

Yes, within the limits set by Quebec (OTSTCFQ) and Ontario (OCSWSSW) social work regulation — including mandatory reporting for imminent risk of harm and child protection concerns. These will be reviewed at your first session.
